Amazon Tablet Could Rival iPads Market Space! Is Apple Ready?

Once upon a time, there were happy Apple fans who would rejoice every second as the company’s share touched new heights. And then there were those who were sufficed at the mere though that Mac would make it through the market at least one more day. Even if the Mac sales rose from 3.5 to 3.7 % it was considered to be a great deal. Today, Apple reins the market, out selling its competitors by a minimum 2:1 and a potential 20:1 ratio. With such shouting figures, it wouldn't be wrong to say that no tablet market exists as such, what exists is an iPad market. No other company, whether it’s HTC, Sony, HP or Samsung, has been able to make a lasting impression on the users.

Things have taken a slight turn, it seems. Now, a company has surfaced that is posing threat to the monopoly of Apple in the tablet market. It is none other than Amazon, whose tablet Kindle is creating a rage amongst the users already. Amazon enjoys a great reputation amongst the users for creating devices that are user-oriented and easy to fall in love with it. Moreover, it owns one of the most successfully running online e-commerce stores. Still, the company will have to work rigorously in order to outdo Apple’s brand identity and massive development support. There are, however, three things that can take Amazon past all major huddles:
  1. Stay focused on Media and Reading. Amazon operates the leading e-book store and is successfully paving its way through the music, films and TV arena. If they support their tablet with a powerful battery, it will surely have an unbeatable advantage over Apple’s iPad. There isn't any point of beating Apple at its own game.
  2. Cut Down on Costing. $399 still seems to be a big amount and iPad, a distant achievement. A cheaper- may be slower and bulkier- device priced at a mere $250 will definitely find a lot of takers in the market.
  3. Throw Yourself Around. The sheer size of Amazon is enough to influence developers, authors, and production companies with alluring offers- including discounting requirements and distribution deals that they won’t be able to deny.

As and when the new Amazon tablet is announced, possibilities are high that tech pundits will jump on to conclusions, trying to prove that Apple might not be able to face such competition without the leadership of Steve Jobs. This, however, will be proved only once the tablet is released in the market and establishes itself amongst the technological users. Till then, Apple is the unrivaled ruler of the tablet market.

Coolest New Features of Windows Phone 8

With the release of the Windows Phone 8, we did some digging to see what, if anything, Microsoft had done to improve their newest mobile device. And it looks they've done their research - the phone has several new features which definitely improve the device. We went through to find what looked the biggest improvements, and found some pretty cool features we thought deserved the spotlight.

Finally, Windows has caught up with the iPhone's ability to take screenshots on the phone. By holding down the Home and Lock buttons at the same time, you'll now be able to capture whatever hilarious text you've got coming in or that brand new layout you've arranged on your home page. With the capability for screenshots, keeping track of information or important events just became that much easier. The screenshots are stored in the phone and are easily able to be uploaded to the internet or sent to someone via email or messaging, similar to any photos you would take with the phone itself.

Music Recognition

The new phone now has the capability to recognize any song you are listening to and tell you exactly what it is you are hearing, and who it by. In early stage testing, the Music Recognition search seems to be extremely accurate. The feature is built into the phone, which means no more downloading apps to try to figure out what catchy tune you are hearing. Similar to Shazam, it analyzes whatever it is hearing and immediately goes out to the internet to discover whatever it is hearing. To activate the music recognition search, go to the hardware search function on the phone. In the lower toolbar, there is a music icon; select that and allow your phone to listen to whatever is playing. Results come back in under 15 seconds and allow an option for buying the song right away. This feature is great for just about anywhere from car to mall to house.

Phone Number Blocking
Remember back in the day when you could dial *69 and block your number? It allowed for many hilarious prank calls to good friends and neighbors we disliked. With the Windows Phone 8, you have the option to block your phone number once again when making outbound calls. The new number blocking system allows you to select who you want to show your caller ID information to - everyone, no one, or just those people in your contacts list. This allows for the useful ability to hide when needing to call someone to cancel that appointment or try to talk to your crush. The setting can be changed at any time to adjust back to any of the three settings.

Getting an Online Store Right

With the onslaught of the internet’s success and the number of people that have begun using it, everyone’s trying to think of a way to promote their business online and for them to try and find a chunk of the internet pie. What should you do? How can you go about finding just what’s right for you and doing the right thing for you to be able to get some profit from the internet? There is no clear answer, however tons of people are of the opinion that an online store is a quick an easy way for you to get some money rolling in. Of course, you can’t expect to run something like Lazada by yourself, but you can surely set something up that’s a little smaller and is for a finer tuned audience.

Here’s the magic. Online shopping has been evolving for the last couple of years and apart from buying from authorized websites that are world know and have been passed off as being safe by everyone, people are now also dabbling into smaller websites that are offering some customized products. A friend of mine approached me recently and mentioned that she was interested in making profit for her custom diary covers and designs. She makes exquisite covers for diaries and notebooks and wanted to know of a quick and easy way to monetize this.

The answer is simple and it’s straightforward. While you can take your products online with ease, you need a proper platform to do so. Throwing together a cheap HTML skin with the products and their prices listed out is one thing, convincing people to buy it is another. What do you do? Do you need to hire a web designer or a developer? Not quite. All you need these days is a proper Content Management System, and there’s none better than WordPress out there in the market today.

If you’re looking for a custom layout however, you’ll have to generate some know-how of HTML and CSS and apply it to get something looking like a proper page, like this one. Something you have to be very careful about whenever you’re putting your products up for sale like that is to give the entire information possible. Your products must contain as much information about them as possible. It’s the way that people feel comfortable buying your product from the website. If you don’t give them enough information to go by, if you don’t give them all the details that they’re looking for they won’t feel comfortable with the website.

Consider this, take a look at the Apple iPad Mini page on their website, you’ll see that in addition to having all the technical details of the product clearly listed out, there are product photographs followed by an entire feature listing with proper explanations of the product features. To top it all off, you can also see a section for product reviews where members drop off comments and reviews of the product for you to take a look at and perhaps influence your opinion. Keep in mind however, that since Lazada is a huge website with tons of customers, they need to do these things.

However, since you’re going to be starting a much smaller business on a smaller scale, you don’t need to bother with the explanation of all the features, a simple bullet point list with all the features and good high resolution photographs will do the trick for you. This should help you get the entire layout figured out and perhaps give you a good idea of what you can get started off on.
