Apple launches iTunes in India

Apple has launched the iTunes store in India. This will allow Indian users to purchase their favourite Bollywood and regional music, and movies from iTunes store in indian currency (INR).

Music fans can purchase single songs or full albums. Single songs are priced at Rs.12 and full albums are priced depending upon number of songs in it.

Movie fans can choose from a wide selection of movies available both for rent and for purchase, with many available in HD (High Definition). HD movies can be rented for a one time watch for Rs.120 whereas SD (Standard Definition) movies are available for as low as Rs.190 for purchase and Rs.80 to rent.

Apple also introduced a great service called iTunes Match, which is being offered to Indian users for an annual subscription of Rs.1200. This service lets you back up your entire music library (including songs you don’t buy from iTunes) to the i-Cloud if the songs are available on iTunes. You can then download the songs as often as you want at no extra charge.
