OnePlus One launched in India

The highly anticipated smartphone from OnePlus - named 'One' is finally launched in India for ₹21,999. OnePlus One is being sold exclusively on Amazon India and you do need an India specific invite to get your hands on this flagship-killer.

OnePlus One boasts a 5.5 inch LTPS IPS Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display (1920 x 1080 pixels) with a pixel density of 401 ppi. Its powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (2.5 Ghz quad core) CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. It has a 3 GB RAM and 16/64 GB internal storage. However currently only 64 GB model is available in India. Battery life is impressive on the OnePlus One as it has a 3100 LiPo non-removable battery. It has a 13MP rear camera with F2.0 aperture and Sony image sensor & a 5MP front camera.

OnePlus One is the only phone to run Cyanogenmod out of the box but OnePlus One in India will not be running Cynogenmod. It has its own version of Android (based on 4.4 KitKat) & the company announced that they have been developing its own version of Android and a build of the OS based on Android 5.0 Lollipop (the latest version of Android), will be released for Indian users, next month. A final build of the OS will be released in February 2015.
